Exactly, if you just ignore how much he sucked for 5 seasons then it all makes sense. It’s the sports writers fault, obviously.

 

I’m sure some said this about Eli when he was coming out of ole miss, so there are some exceptions. Jameis literally played in Tampa’s backyard and won a championship there but yes, there is a clear agenda against... someone who’s a piece of shit and sucks at football. He would have been destroyed by writers in a major market rather than just slightly chipped at with weakfish, strictly football criticisms.

I never really took Eli as soft. He got his fair share of criticism and always seemed to kinda just move on. Some guys just don't wanna deal with fans/media being overly critical, which I totally get. Some guys absolutely thrive on it.

I’ll never forget seeing pictures of him walking through his apartment building during the hurricane, completely flooded. He always seemed like such a normal guy compared to the rest of his family.

Yeah, I've always had an inordinate amount of respect for Eli. Spent his whole life being told he wasn't as good as his brother, wasn't good enough for New York etc etc and just kinda kept moving along.

 

My hot take of the day: When I think of SOFT athlete Dustin Pedroia comes to mind.

 

He was a Bucs fan, switched when Jameis got drafted. Though I think he said he always rooted for both (Kinda AFC / NFC) and just decided fuck it and went full time Jags when the Buccaneers drafted a serial rapist to be the face of the franchise.

The dude is baseball JJ Watt to me. He plays so hard, but he always wanted to make sure everyone knew just how hard he played. And if anyone everrrrrr called him on anything, like idk staging a mutiny against a new manager in week 2, he'd have a conniption.

This is probably surprising but in high school in Texas all the douchey jocks were the guys who played baseball and when I watch a lot of white MLB players talk...it makes sense
