@Fucking Dustin how's Louisiana hot sauce ? I needed a substitute for Crystal for my wings today.

 

Louisiana is fine, nothing notable but if you're looking for a Crystal substitute at a grocery store that's probably as close as you'll get. How are you making the wings+sauce? I dont normally use Crystal for wings, I use it in crab boils so I'm not sure how you're making em and what you may need to adjust due to Louisiana

 

I usually just use two sticks of butter and honey and mix them.

 

I was in the liquor store today and I had no idea peanut butter whiskey was a thing.

 

Should be fine; if you can, add some extra cayenne pepper. I'd say maybe a bit of garlic powder too but I'm not sure how thatd work with the honey so refrain from that for now haha

 

Louisiana and Crystal are interchangeable and both very good in very specific ways.

 

I wanted to just get Texas Pete's since it does pack heat but everyone in my household are weak lol.

 

Thinking Pete has heat is also weak

 

1) Crystal > Louisiana. I much prefer Crystal for breakfast / shrimp and Tabasco for catfish / Cajun food.

2) I wouldn’t use either one for wings.

They have hotter flavors than the regular. But yes regular Tex Pete is not hot haha

 

Honestly just use Frank’s Red Hot. That’s literally a cayenne pepper buffalo sauce that was invented in Buffalo NY for buffalo wings. You basically only have to mix that with butter to make a good buffalo sauce!

 

For a grocery store sauce, it definitely packs heat, but definitely not enough for my taste.

 

I probably should have since Frank's is usually my go to at the store.

 

I have a hot sauce shop by me I usually go to, but unfortunately with the virus it's been closed.

 

Idk which company /person made them first, but cheese slices the actual size of a piece of bread is my fucking hero.

I do more than just mix with butter typically when I use it but that's because it's so flexible it makes it easy to play with
