I think Simmons will be the best player available. Davis has struggled. We keep Slay, sign a free agent CB, draft Simmons, and shore up the d-line in free agency, and I feel pretty good about that defense until I remember that Patricia is calling the play

 

Is Patricia the kind of guy who is going to get the most out of Simmons though? Genuine question

 

We got absolutely gashed by tight ends all season. Simmons helps that immediately.

 

Unless i miss Patricia changing his style from NE to Detroit, absolutely

 

With Simmons, Okudah, and Brown gone, I'm hoping the Jags trade down with like the Jets, Raiders, or Bucs and take CJ or Kinlaw.

 

I’m cool with them taking Simmons at 3. What’s gonna suck is if the Lions have another losing record in 2020 and the team fires Patricia, then brings in someone who is not going to get the most value out of Simmons.

 

Honestly probably not, Patricia doesn’t get the most out of any player but I think Simmons can get the most out of if himself and be a force.
Literally if all he did was come in and cover tight ends our defense is already instantly better. Simmons can also cause a lot of confusion at the line with dropping back. Patricia used that a lot in NE to cause confusion so Simmons would work in a similar role. I’d hope at least

 

With the amount of holes the Jags need to fill, they should absolutely trade down for more picks and take more shots

 

Based on the trade value chart, 12 and 81 for 9 is a good exchange. Raiders get Herbert/Love, we get a 3rd
