    Put Boselli in please

and then Fred Taylor soon haha

Taylor probably won’t get in though. Even the Jags snubbed him by putting Jimmy Smith above him in the best all time player rankings. Which I don’t agree with. I know Taylor was hurt too much to get the top 10 stats he would’ve gotten if he was mostly healthy. But talent wise, theres been plenty of Jimmy Smiths in history, but there’s been very few Fred Taylors imo.

I can personally only count the number of “more impressive RBs I’ve seen” than Taylor on one hand. (granted, that’s with me not really knowing much about RBs pre- Walter Payton. Like. I couldn’t tell you what made OJ Simpson or Jim Brown so good, haven’t seen enough tape - I’d have to rank them SINCE Payton like I ranked WRs SINCE Rice)

  2. If Fred Taylor is a hall-of-famer, I’m going to the MAT for Julian Edelman.

Fred Taylor was far better than Julian Edelman ever was come on

  4. Well, sure, my point is Fred Taylor is def not a hall of famer and Edelman at least won hah. Neither should even get a free day pass to the hall haha.

    Nope. Supporter

It's insane that Fred Taylor was only a pro-bowler and all-pro once

  6. If fred Taylor is a hall of famer then Hines ward is

  7. prime MJD or prime Taylor

Yeah he’s absurdly underrated. He put up top 5 running back stats and still got snubbed by the Pro Bowl several times

Easily prime Taylor. I loved MJD but he was always little brother to the true Jags legend

just depends how you’re looking at it.

    fame / stats wise, yeah

talent as a player... nah I put Taylor over Ward. Ward was a very technically good player but he wasn’t an “insane” athlete / couldn’t make the whole opposing team look fuckin silly like Taylor could

Jerome Bettis though. I have Jerome very close to Fred. Bettis DID make whole teams look silly haha. it definitely was “insane” that a man that big had footwork like that and could run through 2 dudes and juke 2 more out in the same play.

But you know as well as anyone that fame/stats is what gets you in more than that second criteria. Its why Im so stunned that Terrell Davis got in.

yeah I mean definitely. I am being fully subjective when I choose to judge players by how good they “looked” rather than how strong their legacy is

follow up: and I think it’s okay for people to be subjective about this and be bullish about what they saw a guy do. There are so many conflicting factors skewing numbers, and context matters so much when it comes to stats, that being “objective” really isn’t that objective anyway. I prefer people to be like “I know what the stats say, but watching that player in that situation, he was legitimately harder to stop and required more attention from coaches.”

Acknowledging that the context may have subdued the stats is a big part of sports analysis in my opinion, especially a very team dependent sport like NFL football

I will say this though, there is a tier of runningbacks that would’ve made their team good by themselves (or DID), and as much as I love Fred’s moves and creativity he is not in that top tier. Once we lost our passing offense from the late 90s we were bad a lot, even with Fred going off

that’s your Barry Sanders / AP / LT / Walter Peyton etc tier. Those guys didn’t even have good offenses around them sometimes and still singlehandedly gave their team a consistent offensive threat

Who do people have as the most likely outcomes? I'm thinking Colts if its not the Bears, but, Raiders might be a weird dark horse. Mayock LOVED him

"I think when you meet the kid and shake his hand and talk to him and get a feel for him, I feel the same way as when I'm going to sit with Peyton Manning, Matt Ryan, Drew Brees. He gives you the same vibe."

“From my perspective, I sit there and say, okay, this year looks okay. But get a running back. Get a McCaffrey or Dalvin Cook. Get a tight end. O.J. Howard. Get whoever of those wideouts that you like.”

I will say Bears for 20th overall based on all the rumors which to me is INSANE

I’ll be pleasantly shocked if the Eagles get a first for Wentz but I also spent more time watching Eagles games this year than any other team so I’ve also admittedly got some serious recency bias. It just seems like a lot to give up for what was one of the worst performing qbs in the league this year.

that tweet said Wentz was the 34th best passer from a clean pocket the past 3 years according to PFF

not sure why it got deleted
