It's just the entire premise of him getting "the last laugh," as if he had something to do with the Chiefs success. I completely supported him in his holdout with the Steelers and I 100000000% of the time back the players in contract disputes, but as he's shown the last 3 years he just has no interest in actually being a competitor anymore, and that's fine if that's what he wants to do, but I would hardly call it him getting the last laugh if he didn't contribute anything

Capitalism sucks. Can’t even win rookie of the year without being an advert for Pepsi

I guess I just see it this way

Steelers didn't want to pay him - he got paid by the Jets.
Jets were a bunch of losers and didn't want him - Super Bowl champs and possible winners want him.

I do agree it's weird because the Steelers were smart not to pay him and the Jets were right not to play him but I can see the flip side of, all things considered who got more of what they want? I'd say Bell getting paid and a ring would probably be the biggest winner in a situation full of losers.

Seems about right; though the players are generally in such a crap no-leverage situation that he definitely came out behind versus just accepting the Steelers offer and playing (if memory serves, Steelers offered like 4yr/$44mil, he turned down a $14mil franchise tag, and in the end the Jets paid him about $28mil total for his "2" years. He was right to sit out though, Steelers would have run him into the ground again.

Though I do feel a little less sympathy for him than say, a Watson, because he was a free agent who went to the Adam Gase Jets...

To be fair, mccagnan probably outbid the ravens by quite a lot and I don’t blame him for taking it, especially after the injuries he had.

Sodas are horrible for you, and they’re the biggest rip off when you eat out as well

as little as restaurants pay to fill your coke 5 times, they could charge a nickel and still make a profit. Why the fuck does it cost $3.25 and then $6.50 if you switch to something else lol. That’s where most of a restaurant’s profit margins are, right there. Those boxes of soda syrup they hook up to the soda machine literally last months and serve hundreds of thousands of customers

just on principle I refuse to pay for a drink that’s terrible for me when it costs the restaurant next to nothing.

I just think soda, much like cigarettes is a perfect example of capitalism lol. Imo we’re all suckers for adopting the habit of drinking soda all the damn time. The whole point was to get us addicted to an unhealthy habit so we remain consistent buyers and so that demand stays inflexible

and they REALLY got us. Most people always order sodas every time they eat out. It’s cultural to treat yourself to a soda on your lunch break, etc. Vending machines fucking everywhere. It’s the biggest American addiction.

in my opinion the soda addiction is the single biggest reason America has an obesity problem, more so than fast food (cause people get multiple sodas at non fast food joints too). I would also put sodas behind our much higher propensity to get diabetes.
