Its also incredibly easy to, right now, say they arent trading him. Maybe even more so because Watson is a negative cap hit when traded, he has no roster bonus money due, and basically until training camp there's no penalty from either side. Gets a lot harder during draft week, if Watson is vocally saying he'll sit out, to hold firm.

As I've said before, they fucked up so bad early on losing the leverage game by letting Watson drive the coverage and the media run crazy, they have to go hardass to gain some of that back

Now, per the new 2020 CBA, fines cannot be forgiven. Watson, as a player under an existing contract, would be fined for missing the mandatory offseason minicamp, fined for every practice he skips in the preseason (approximately 28), and fined for every game he misses in the preseason (likely to be three, if the NFL goes to a 17-game schedule in 2021). The total fine, by my calculation, would be about $2,355,877.

Most of the other stuff isnt really a big deal (they can void all his guaranteed money, but, that only matters if they cut him...he'd lose a season towards free agency, but he's under contract through 2025 anyway)

the scummy thing to do now is a user blitz with your safety that comes in free up the middle every time (the Center dumbs out)

strong close is the "scummy" offense

 

The Jags guy Brock was one of my favorites from that league, you had to nickel and dime your way down the field

Carr is due 22m and 19m in his last 2 seasons of that contract. That’s pretty fair for him tbh. I think it’s weird for Raiders to trade him.

 

I think Watson would excel with the Raiders tbh

They need to end the pro bowl and just replace it with a skills challenge. Bucket hats and all.

 

Watson would do great on the Raiders. He'll do great on anywhere that isn't the 2nd worst roster in the NFL haha
