Yeah, I can see it working; also, basically give one person the real play-calling role, and the other chimes in when they need a run/pass specific call.

I could see you doing this on pro-level while an inexperienced player recklessly chased the ball carrier for sure.

But I tell everyone that plays madden that getting in the way of where the play is SUPPOSED to go, and letting the AI block you... like 70% of the time that is the best way to stop running plays. Trying to always be the guy making the tackle causes you to get yourself out of position. But by blowing up the main gap regardless whether you get the tackle or not? You force them to redirect, which almost always results in bad angles and delayed burst in the backfield - plus the AI tends to prioritize blocking the user, so this often moves a blocker *away* from another guy who can easily make the tackle.

 

That's when I hit you with the HB Dive to the right. Always zag when they think you're gonna zig.

Granted, we also played Madden 15 back when I didn’t have a PS4 and had never experienced different / slower PS4 madden mechanics and physics. So you were elite but I was also playing like trash on offense and was a much worse play caller then too.

they had just invented the different types of catches (aggressive, RAC, possession) and I didn’t know how to do any of that, I was used to just throwing the ball and the AI WR doing the rest for me
