Cousins and Jimmy G are basically the same dude lol

I mean Cousins is probably a tad better but yeah

the bribe to take Goff is what made it a severe overpay though tbh haha. The Lions honestly probably saw that as even MORE trade value because they can actually afford Goff and it prevents them from being forced to draft a QB this year.

I also get the sense that when the Lions say they value Goff, they mean it

    The rivalry is back on

If you’re comparing Jimmy G’s one full season and Cousins’ 6 full seasons, the Jimmy G season would slot in as #6 of 7

    WEAK take.

  7. plus if Goff can have one good year in Detroit they could potentially trade him for more picks

I don't think Goff can consistently be good but I do think he can have a good season or two every now and then

look man if I had Jimmy G as my QB and the talk was about spending assets to "upgrade" to Kirk Cousins....I would be furious

  9. Well sure, but they couldn't have both on the Roster and if no one else would take Goff then the Rams had no leverage and HAD to overpay to get rid of him.

Honestly Stafford vs Cousins is the much better comparison. Stafford is better, but it’s more a function of him playing at a very high level at the beginning of his career and Cousins put up the better numbers over the past 5 years

I get the logic I just still think it’s silly that the Rams keep mortgaging away their drafts haha.

but I guess when I really think about it their window would probably be over right NOW if they didn’t get a QB cause there is no one worth trading up that far for this year, considering Lawrence and Wilson are probably going 1 & 2

I just personally feel like the Rams could have rebuilt quickly and went right back to being competitive within 2 years, if they just bit the bullet and did it instead of trading MORE first rounders

  13. it's what @preppyak said - the Rams are fucked in 2022 no matter what so why not swing one more time for the fences?

huge risk though. If they fall short again, well, now they’re gonna have like 6 years of rebuilding instead of 2-3 lol

  15. I hope stafford crushes it so we can get some jim face going

I already said I’m rooting for Stafford but I simultaneously want to see McVay / Snead’s “dream team” fail so they come back down to earth and focus on drafting players again like a normal fucking team lol

I love Stafford, I really do. But I'm going to find hard to root for him now because of how much I dislike McVay.

I mean, that’s fine, but it’s also objectively a pretty big upgrade. Not a sexy one, but a big one. Jimmy G has been healthy once in the past 4 seasons and that healthy season saw their playoff play calling move in a direction that basically said they’d be better off with no QB than with him throwing the ball. A player like Cousins who is a volume passer and, with the exception of one year, tends to be near the top of the league in yards/completion sounds like a great fit for a Shanahan offense. It obviously depends on price, but if you could get Cousins for half the price of Stafford (something like Garropolo and a 2022 first or a couple day 2 picks), that’s a pretty sweet deal

  23. McVay being only 2 years older than his starting qb is wild

Fuck that, I wanna see strategically home grown teams win Super Bowls, not hodgepodges of foolishly overpaid players. Especially in Los Angeles, it just rings like a sense of entitlement, just because LA is a big media / publicity city.

Almost like “LA is the greatest city in the world baby, forget the salary cap go get all the big name players, this team deserves to be SPECIAL” lol that’s just what I see... and it’s gross to me as a fan of a small market team that has to claw up from the bottom. Even if they win a title, which I do acknowledge is very possible, I’ll prob still be salty about it because every year the Rams doing some shit that reminds me why I don’t like them.

I just have no interest in seeing teams try to buy super bowls, it’s boring and trite. But i would at least be happy for Stafford.

Anyone have a quick way to know how many players currently on each team were drafted by that team? Who has some time in their hands?
