No way. Busts don’t make a Super Bowl or the playoffs multiple times or get a franchise contract.

Not living up to that contract is a different thing but he’s absolutely not a bust.

 

I think he is absolutely a bust considering what they had to give up for him and pay to get rid of him/replace him

 

But he isn't particularly great either, outside the SB year he hasn't been anything special.

first time I ever made both at once it was great. Baked the shrimp in the oven to buy time so that I could focus on getting the steaks exactly right.

Baked shrimp scampi is way easier than making it as a pasta dish in a pan, and it still came out almost as good. Not quite as juicy and tender but still very flavorful.

 

But I wouldnt willingly take him at this price. If it only ends up being a single first, sure...but, 2 1sts and a 3rd?

Yeah, HOU couldnt take on this deal...Goff's contract is worse than Watson's and gives them no way to free cap space

The Rams used 4 1sts, 2 2nds, and 3 3rds to get Matt Stafford, basically...its not just that Goff is a bust, he's the single worst draft trade in NFL history, and its not really that close. If you run through the lineage of what TEN got for Goff's picks, its basically the foundation of their playoff teams. And then they got a better QB than Goff for like, a 4th rounder?

that isn't really an argument for me.

I don't think Goff is like, Jamarcus Russell bust level but when you take everything into account, its hard to say otherwise IMO

 

I do see the Lions flipping Goff though.

 

The definition of a bust needs to be confirmed because y’all are talking about regretting giving him a massive contract.

A bust is Leaf or Russell. Drafted super high to flame out and be bad their entire career.

Since when are busts evaluated years after they’ve already had some success?

Wentz is absolutely a bust.

 

I think that line of thinking is really underplaying how hard it is to find a franchise quarterback. MVP level play and multiple playoff appearances can’t be associated with a bust.

 

Dilfer and Grossman never played at MVP level and literally everyone knows it’s their historic defensive play that got them anywhere.

 

I’m not sure not meeting super high expectations is a bust. Just a disappointment. But having a serviceable starter is better than many teams in the league.

I think a bust is entirely relative to your expectations for a player based on what it cost to acquire them.

Goff certainly isn’t a massive bust like Jamarcus or Leaf, but it’s hard to believe the Rams got what they were hoping for when they took him #1 overall. In that sense, I’d say he’s a bust.

 

I think that was bad GMing more than it was Goff being a bust. It’s not Goff’s fault they traded up so far for him, and it’s not Goff’s fault that they offered the extension, and in my opinion, his play after the extension did not warrant quitting on him although Stafford is undeniably a pretty big upgrade
