    The rivalry is back on

I am just going to get back on my last season soap box for a sec and say that I think WFT would be in a LOT better position to pursue a Stafford trade if they would have traded down from 2 because I really don’t think they have the draft capital to drop a 1 and then some on a QB

IMO, they’re still about 3 O-linemen, 2 pass catchers, 2 linebackers, and maybe 1 or 2 players in the secondary away from having a complete team and using a big chunk of cap space and draft capital on a QB who needs to win in the next 3 years to really cash in doesn’t feel like it’s gonna pay off

THREE o-lineman? I’d get another one for sure, but that line performed really well. Definitely agree on needing another WR, couple of linebackers and a safety. Obviously some of that will be addressed in FA and the draft. I think Stafford on that team contends right away, or at least the following season. If he was here this year they probably win 11 games.

I don’t think people realize just show bad the QB play was in most of those losses.

maybe the happy medium is 2. Scherff is a definite stud, Moses and Roullier were both solid but you could probably upgrade from either of them and not question it, but Schweitzer is probably better off as a guy off the bench and the revolving door at LT is a definite need area (and this is a real good draft to address it)

Hopefully Charles pans out too, but yeah, I’d definitely grab another here too.

I think people are overrating the Patricia thing. It's not like he'll have any influence in the offense, or even need to be in the same room as Stafford haha

@Night Channels @Max_123 Zach Wilson's completion percentage on passes that travel 20+ yards in the air is better than any year Sam Darnold has had in his NFL career.

    Feel the Wrath Supporter

I get the theory and all, but, having a dude who can disrupt games for the next decade was easily worth it versus trading with the Falcons (getting a Julio Jones level trade of a 1st, 2nd, and future 1st) and coming away with like Austin Jackson, Trevon Diggs, and trading the acquired 1st for Stafford. And thats the only trade that nets them a future 1st, I suspect, as the others who wanted the pick were inside the top 10 and probably would only trade 2nd/3rd/4ths in some combo.

Im betting he's one of the first pegs to fall after the Super Bowl. Detroit wants him gone way ahead of that signing bonus, and teams will want to do their draft/combine evaluation knowing they do or dont have him.

Might even get traded before the SB if they get it in this week.

Won’t matter because Houston will have the #2 pick

    The rivalry is back on

Idk what was on the table so it’s hard to say for sure what the going price may have been, but my point originally was that they had already traded their 2020 2nd away to move up to get Sweat and they had a lot of holes and not a lot of draft capital to fill them. So, if there was a way to get one of the other top tier players and stock back up on picks in some way, it’d probably help that specific team whose only strength going into the draft was already on the defensive line to do quantity over quality -- with the qualifier that they wouldn’t trade down so far that they miss one of the other guys in that top tier of prospects (which probably would have wound up with them getting one of the top tackles in the first and filling a few of those holes with day 2 picks either last year or this year)

Now that the scenario is there to flip a first and probably a day 2 pick for a solution at QB, having those picks would have set them up a lot better to make that trade and not be stuck with a bunch of holes and be doing things the Houston Texans way of being razor thin at most positions because you went all in on your guy one too many times in a short period of time with the cost to acquire Sweat and Stafford plus the opportunity cost of keeping the #2 pick.
