I also think the bone being in the wings actually makes you savor the sauce more instead of just chewing it all up in 2 bites. It’s messy, sure, but fuckin savory as hell. You’d wanna take smaller bites when it’s super spicy, anyway.

It sucks because honestly we probably just have a top 3 backup quarterback in the league. The Jags are probably gonna sit on him cause there’s value in that. But that sucks for him cause I see him having MORE value than that as a player.

I want to deal him for draft capital.

But I’m sorry, if teams are starting Nick Mullens, Drew Lock, washed up Cam Newton, and Teddy Bridgewater in 2020, then Gardner Minshew deserves to compete for a spot. “Bad” quarterbacks start all the time. Relative to other bad QBs, Minshew is good enough to be a top 32 QB in the NFL.

do I want to be that team? No, Lawrence is OBVIOUSLY a way better prospect and worth snubbing Minshew. But a team with a shit QB but a good amount of pieces elsewhere, would be pleasantly surprised that Minshew can operate a passing offense when he has some help.

 

Oh sure. I think he’s bad. But Drew Lock is also bad lol. I’d kill to Have Gardner right now.

 

I really tbh want to see him go to New Orleans. This is just conjecture but I think he could actually be a middle-of-the-pack QB there, even while they strip down the team they are probably keeping Michael Thomas and Alvin Kamara at least for another year or two right?

It’s not like they can afford anyone who costs more than Minshew’s 6th round rookie contract to replace Brees... and it’s not like they’re in good position to draft somebody right now. But they love Taysom Hill for some fucking reason.

 

I order all flats every time. No shame, you should always order what you want. And if they say no we can’t do that, then you shut the fuck up and eat what you’re given or order something else.

 

I also would think that peoples interests are across the board and the universe finds balance in the end. Some all flats people like me get cancelled out by all drums folk. Is there an overall preference Randall?

 

As a server though you can’t say no most of the time. I mean, I did anyway when I thought I could get away with it hahaha. But if it’s up to the restaurant the server could be forced to do some fucking ludicrous things or risk losing their job. Many times I’ve been forced to accept ridiculous customer requests that led to me making over a hundred less dollars that day.

I do think customers should be polite and considerate and not try to order the fucking moon. That’s my expert opinion after 10 years in the business. The only people who really believe in “the customer is always right” are people in offices who make six figures that never deal with them and have no knowledge of the context of how shitty people really are to restaurant workers.

And keep in mind when I say this, the restaurant pays me $2 an hour so it’s not like I get any real incentive to do whatever the customer wants. I’m just threatened with “I’ll fire you if you don’t”

picky customers often tip less and are more stingy, also. That is true like 90% of the time. Higher expectations means less respect for what the workers are doing for you.

 

I try to always leave the door open for the no and will willingly accept it. I just legit don’t like drums. The meat is tougher and I don’t like that one part that always sticks out and is chewy.

a very common one is being forced to keep my whole section of tables open for a “birthday party” of 40 people who showed up with no reservation and demanded a section of the restaurant

it ends up being 12 people who show up 2 hours late and all complain and tip nothing because it’s not their party and they didn’t even really wanna come

so now it’s 930 PM, dinner rush is over, and I missed 3 hours of tables I could’ve made money off of

this happens to servers weekly. At every restaurant I’ve worked at.

 

my first serving experience was being pulled off hosting with zero training on Valentine's Day to take a 20 top bachelorette party. i got tipped two dollars which is even more infuriating that nothing.
