Yes, I 100 percent trade #1 overall for Watson. They'd never ever do that though.

 

If they offered Watson AND Tunsil maybe I’d consider it but Trevor could be another Watson 4 years younger and $80-$90 million cheaper for the next 4 years

 

Like I’d rather trade both firsts for Watson and Tunsil than just trade #1 for Watson.

but I’m honestly too excited about Lawrence to think about Watson. Yeah he could flop but I really don’t think so. I think we have a goldmine of potential in our hands. Watson already is tired of wasting his career and will be easier to piss away to another team also.

any other year and I happily trade #1 for Watson... but we’ve all been watching Lawrence dominate and make (to some degree) pro-style reads since he was a true freshman with no interruptions or slumps. Dude is fuckin ready.

 

Honestly, i've not cared one bit about how he's turned out, but now that I know you wouldn't trade him outright for Watson, I hope the dude booooooooooombs lol

 

Trevor had a slump his sophomore year. He was just already top two in his position so his slump didn't look like one lol

 

i mean that’s kinda ridiculous. Obviously the ability to develop a new QB who shows that much promise is a very strong proposition. You don’t know if he could potentially be BETTER than Watson; and even if he isn’t he’s still much cheaper and much more likely to remain loyal to JAX.

is Watson worth pick #1 absolutely yes. Most years he’s worth more than that. But trading away Lawrence is not a decision I make easily regardless of the return. The QBs who are better than Watson are all old.

It’s not unfathomable that it could be a mistake. But yeah Watson is a known commodity as an already elite performing QB who is still young, so I understand that point too.

 

If Lawrence dominates with his #1 receiver being GreatBeardRecs and #1 RB being GreatBeardRecs after I hit him in the knees with a bat then I'll eat these words. Literally. Print them out and put them on a plate. Don't even need salt.

 

Setting aside the obvious that Houston wont trade him in-division, Watson alone probably turns the Jags from 1-15 to 6-10 this season.

Without blinking, the Jags go from #1 pick to playoff contender a la the Dolphins. Decent young WRs who instantly get better; bring in a Godwin or Juju or Robinson to cement that...James Robinson is dirt cheap...you can spend the rest of your entire draft and FA on defense and OL. And theres a TON of impact FA talent that you have space to sign.
