Much like Jags fans yelling DUUUUVALLLL, this photo was meant to celebrate the consolidation of Duval county and Jacksonville City governments. It’s a mystery why Jax is so proud of a voter suppression tactic.

This move effectively silenced urban Jax residents’ votes, with overwhelming rural conservative votes from people in the outskirts of the city. Who, if anything, resented urban Jax and its racial / socioeconomic diversity; which only helped solidify voting for people who neglected the city.

And yet people drink Bold City beers and shout DUUUVALLL everywhere they go like it’s something to be proud of lol.
