Now that's something. However, they all RAN those parts of Reids team. Bienemey isnt even #2 in order in KCs offense

It's been weirdly underreported considering how every year we hear about how he deserves a HC job

Its not so much coaching tree as it is "well we hired two guys that did the same thing and both will have been fired by next year so idk why we're obsessed with a guy doing LESS"

Stefanski is part of the tree, the tree extends beyond the first level and Stefanski basically came up entirely under Childress who is 100% a Reid disciple. Like worst case Reid's offensive coaching tree (I think it's silly to limit it to one side of the ball given what a head coach's role is anyway) is mixed, but it's definitely not bad enough to write off a candidate.

I'm not writing him off because of the tree. But I do think calling stefanski a Reid student is just a ridiculous stretch. He spent part of one summer working on a team that Reid coached.

Shit might as well call Cam an Urban Meyer QB

Childress's first 7 years in the NFL were under Reid and then he became a head coach. Stefanski's first 5 years as an NFL coach were under Childress. I don't see how that's a stretch?

    @EntryLevelDave

And it’s not just “a WR I like and the second best Josh Allen”. Yesterday I listed at least 10 players that are ascending and likely to be core holes already filled for the next coach.

That’s less than half of a starting roster so I’m obviously acknowledging that we are bad. What I’m saying is, you can’t say that for most 1-15 teams. Most teams in our position with the #1 overall pick look like the Jets. It’s actually surprising we got it and not them.

If you pay attention ive been saying we have a good roster FOR A REBUILD, not for going out and winning right now. So please stop projecting this ultra fan bias onto me when I’m not saying anything like that at all. I’m simply saying some of the rebuild work has already been done for the next coach - and YES the 2020 Jaguars were a very bad team, but we’re also not that far away from fixing those problems and becoming a decent team. The Jags coaching / GM job is an attractive job.

    The rivalry is back on

even with strong young core — using the Colts as an example, here’s a list of the guys that the Grigson regime drafted that were still on the roster by the start of the third season Ballard had control of the roster:

    Ryan Kelly
    Le’Raven Clark
    TY Hilton
I don’t remember if Joe Haeg was gone by then

I never said it wasn't an attractive job lol. I just think part of what makes it such an attractive job is for the most part, the other jobs really really stink. Like, historically bad list of options.

Yes well that’s usually the case when a team fires their coach so I’m not exactly comparing apples to oranges here. It’s always “bad” options. It’s not meaningful to call them all bad, we can only speak in terms of relativity.

If you are the kind of coach / GM who wants to start from scratch with a new franchise quarterback, the Jags are in better position to do that than a lot of other similar situations the past couple years.

cause he never actually coached under Reid. So why would I credit Reid for work he didn’t do

the problem is teams like Washington cannot outbid whatever the Jets and Dolphins can offer

now, if Watson only wants to go to Washington (he has a NTC), then sure

Not much difference between smith and garrett tbh

There’s a good chance they just don’t make a coaching hire for a week or two
