It’s not so bad that the next coach is doomed, like you acted like it was on the last page. My point is we have enough pieces to get good quickly and our rebuild is already headed in a good direction.

I was arguing that if we really tried to win games this season instead of tanking. We would’ve done better than 1-15. You can’t just look at the record and be like “yeah team is a dumpster fire” we are actually a better clean slate than several other coach-needy teams.

I agree with @CarpetElf that ATL is definitely a bigger mess. I mean that’s a team clearly in decline but without the cap space or draft capital to fix it right away. We’ve already had our decline.

Like this ain’t my first rodeo. Jags have been bad my whole life. I think I know what I’m talking about when I say that this is the best “starting point” we’ve had for a rebuild literally since we became an expansion team in 1995.

I’m not at all saying we’re a good team right now... im saying the roster has enough pieces in place for Lawrence and the next coach to taste some success in a year or two. Jags coaching job is not a dead end this time like it usually is.

I'm pretty lukewarm on Brady & the entire coaching staff. Bottom-third in Offense DVOA, same EPA per play as the Jets, Broncos & Eagles in the second half of the year, bad playcalling in the fourth quarter. Although Teddy deserves his share of the blame for all three of those.

 

At this point bobert has been interviewing for almost an entire day lol if he doesn’t become coach, that’ll be something
