yeah I feel like if anything Smith opened Henry up. Henry was underwhelming before he got there and often unable to get momentum out of the backfield. Whatever Smith did works really well with accessing Henry’s elite traits.

do I think Robinson is getting 2000 yards hell no lol but I think he’d reach whatever his potential is in an Arthur Smith offense. We also have solid pieces on the line who can block in that kind of scheme.

 

Smith is also getting Trevor Lawrence in JAX. If he can do THAT with Tannehill i can only imagine what he does with Lawrence.

Why are they so hellbent on Meyer

 

That video said nothing but “well, haven’t heard much, urban Meyer might not even want to be an NFL coach. But let’s keep hyping it.”

 

if you offer the guy the job and he says "well you know I don't know"

why would you still pursue him?

 

do i think robinson will ever rush for 2k yards? no.

but i woudln't be shocked if he eventually has a season of 2k total yards. dude can rush, dude can catch, and he had 1400 total yards this season. i could see a 1400/600 yard season down the road, especially if trevor can draw more defensive attention

 

Meyer is going to make them wait forever and then say no, leaving the Jags with barely any candidates to hire

 

I didn't say Robinson was bad. He's a great all-purpose player. But he is not close to Henry.

 

Because they are going to draft Justin Fields #1 overall

they want a big time coach with a lot of experience who can also assemble a team. Doesn’t leave a whole lot of options

I'm not sure if he is, but his schemes are very reliant on his skill talent...which could just be him being adaptable or it could be a massive crutch.

His run schemes will not work with many other backs. Like I said, he may have designed those plays specifically for Henry but odds are, he'll try to use that same stuff wherever he ends up.

I just think he's far more risky and could become a massively predictable playcaller elsewhere.

Wink Martindale kicked his ass this weekend. He didn't know what to do.

 

Smith literally is far better than any other offensive play caller currently on the market for a new team imo

no coaching hire comes without warts.

 

I also think he is adept at teaching gap / drive blocking and that is why Henry broke out. It’s not anything he can’t replicate with another offensive line. Other RBs can take advantage too, just maybe to lesser degrees of success than 2000 yards rushing.
