I agree, I'm really not arguing that point. I'm arguing that if a team sees a chance to upgrade its QB position and get value for their QB, that's a smart move.

Duh but these teams gather intel on free agent coaches as well

He could land a DC job here or wherever if he wanted to leave college coaching

It feels like Douglas is interviewing potential DCs today.

I'd actually prefer Marvin Lewis at HC over someone like Arthur Smith or Eric Bieniemy.

Go hire Lovie Smith and bring in a strong offensive staff.

If the Jets are truly looking for a CEO-type, then Lewis is fine. Obviously not my first choice, but I wouldn't hate it.

Still holding out hope for Matt Campbell...

Yeah, Aaron Glenn as a HC would be massively dumb.

Also, why do people not like Arthur Smith

I don't know. He's a former player, he's worked in scouting, and he's had success as a defensive backs coach. I think his background is pretty appealing, but he's probably a few years away from being an HC.

    Glenn could get instant buy-in.

I don't not like him. I just don't have a lot of faith in his scheme without Derrick Henry. That Titans offense is quietly loaded. AJ Brown and Corey Davis are #good.

I think Arthur Smith has alot of teams lined up just no set times

In that case Marvin Lewis could be perfect. Groom Glenn then retire into a FO role.

What about if that team had Najee Harris haha

Seems pretty obvious the rate is about the same as moving up to the #1 or #2 pick. Jets could obviously get it done the easiest (#2, #34, future 1st and 2nd, and/or Sam Darnold). Dolphins obviously can do about the same with Tua and having multiple 1sts and 2nd this year.

A team like the panthers would have it the hardest; have to give up way more picks because they dont even have a speculative QB to send. Most interesting one would be Cowboys offering up Dak for Watson

Like, Jay Cutler was worth a 1st, 3rd, future 1st, AND a replacement level starting QB. You gotta either add at least another 1st, bare minimum, for a Watson.

Where is all this Watson stuff coming from

Jets can offer four firsts and Darnold. That's a yes for both I'd assume.
