It seems like gruden, rhule and douglas definitely changed stuff up for what’s expected the last few years

some of the Dolphins beat writers are suggesting Anthony Lynn and yes....Bill O'Brien for OC

how fucking hilarious would it be if the Dolphins hired BOB after how he helped re-stock their team?

    The rivalry is back on

I honestly think BOB is a pretty good coach and probably would make a decent to good OC, but he got Peter Principled into a role that made him look truly terrible. If he has to get blackballed to “offensive assistant” territory for a year, that makes sense, but I’d imagine he’ll be back in either the NFL or NCAA at a coordinator level with some success and will probably even get a shot at college football head coaching again at a power 5 school if he wants it

Crazy that he’s been around for 14 years. Happy trails!

Paton is the only GM candidate that the Lions interviewed in person which is interesting

    The rivalry is back on

Either he/the team was consistently lucky over a 5 year period (which is very possible) or there was something there on his motivation or one of those other hard to quantify elements, because his teams very consistently outperformed their Pythagorean expectation of how they “should” have performed. Their past 2 seasons were 7-8 win expected teams that finished with 10-11 wins, you had the Watson injury year, and then you had 3 years where the team somehow won 9 games with guys like Tom Savage and Brock Osweiler at QB.

Generally, the way I look at that is, if it’s a one season deviation, it’s a likely regression candidate and if it’s a more consistent outlier (Seattle is the other one that consistently outperforms that metric), there’s something else there

So, not to say BOB deserved to keep his job (the GM work was truly terrible), and I generally agree in the little bit of Texans football I’ve watched/mainly take your word for it on the playcalling, nor would I get excited about any team I root for hiring him, but he wins games (especially as a head coach) and there’s *something* there as to how BOB the coach got them over the hump from bad team back to a consistent playoff team, and had similar results at his precious NCAA stops

Apparently mcshay is saying the jets are trying to trade down, which means they’re probably not.

McShay is best friends with Joe Douglas. He is probably just trying to boost the value of the pick.

Why would you give any real info to an espn dude who’s gonna spill the beans, don’t understand that or how it would give it more value
