that said, Jags are in that rare situation where I do easily move on from Minshew right here hahaha. He doesn’t have that top notch athleticism to make plays that aren’t there. Some teams don’t need that. But in Jax we need that because we suck lol.

Trade him though, don’t sit on him. He deserves a chance to start for a functional team that *isn’t* desperate for a QB to bail them out by himself... and while a good backup QB on a cheap contract is valuable, he’s also probably worth some decent draft capital that we could use to support Lawrence.

Minshew would be awesome on the Saints, Bears, or 49ers. I think theres a chance he’d make the Panthers competitive as well if they didn’t draft Wilson. I would also be okay seeing him compete with Drew Lock in Denver or maybe as an option to replace Matt Ryan in Atlanta by 2022. Pls no Philadelphia though. That city would be so mean to him!

 

YO the Jags are interviewing the Titans’ OC Arthur Smith. That’s dope I’m all for that. Would be nice revenge. My dream scenario is Smith as HC, Tony Elliott as OC, and Robert Saleh as DC.

Dude has done better with the Titans offense than I’ve ever seen them tbh. As y’all know I love any coach who still knows how to play smash mouth football in a modern league. I envy them for it. With the offensive line pieces we have, they’d succeed best in a power scheme like that (Robinson, Cann, Taylor and Norwell are all blockers who excel in gap / drive blocking specifically - shifting to that style has improved Robinson and Cann’s play a lot - and I think Linder has been adapting seamlessly even though he’s better at zone). We are halfway to building our line to do the same thing. We also have at least a “solid” power back of our own - he’s not Henry but he looks very consistent.

And I love how Smith resurrected Tannehill too. I think Trevor Lawrence projects really nicely to how Tannehill is used and it would really be a very straightforward role for him to utilize his athleticism and focus on misdirection and checking blitzes. While he slowly learns to make more complex reads.
