This would be a bummer for us, but awesome for him. He’s a really good dude. I taught his son (brilliant kid) and met him a few times, like back to school night. He was in Tampa before Baltimore and brought in a strong scouting and analytics profile.

They didn't settle on Adam Gase. They chose him over plenty of other candidates (Eric Bieniemy included).

everyone in sports is already an ego maniac, but imagine how fucking ego-boosting it's gotta be to be an up and coming Coordinator and have ANY team request to interview you yet alone 3-4 teams. like, for all of us normal people imagine how fucking awesome it would be to have 3-4 companies reach out and say they're interested in you for a position.


now i can see why people choose shit jobs where we know they won't last more than 2 years -because everything seems awesome at the time and all of these people believe they can change a franchise around AND get paid millions even if they don't lol

 

i think his window has closed for at least the next 2-3 years. he may become a commodity again down the road, but i feel like coordinators don't stay hot names forever. you either take the jump or you get forgotten about (outside of the Colts thing, but i think he got interviews last year so that may not have done too much damage)

also have Cam "can't throw an 8 yard pass" Newton as your QB for 90% of the year doesn't help you at all lol

 

Well, this is where I was wrong because he got interviews last year, so I thought going 7-9 with rubber arm cam might have actually helped him, but guess not.

I’m a good guy and want to see people succeed upwards, so I’m willing to let Brian Daboll spend his week preparing for interviews because that should be what is most important for him right now

After what he pulled in Indy, I suspect he never gets another shot. Flamed out badly in DEN, had a chance to show he changed, then f'd up the Colts thing so bad his agent fired him...nobody is gonna touch that.

 

Eh....NFL teams have forgiven much worse. He had interviews the years following the Colts thing. I think if the Pats end up with a young QB and he helps him flash he’s back in the spotlight.
