Because running a team that Khan has complete control over is not ideal

Before his comments this morning, Jacksonville was #1 in terms of landing spots for a new coach and GM. Khan is doing everything in his power to change that.

 

Khans complete control consists of not hiring a coach/gm who want someone other than Trevor Lawrence and not being left in the dark while a Tom Coughlin can ruin the team.

Like you really think Bill B could trade every pick and player for Josh Rosen and Kraft would say "Well you have control over personnel decisions so go right ahead"

The NFL being greedy and wanting the extra playoff spot hurt Week 17 a lot

The Steelers would have tried if they had a shot at a bye. The Ravens/Dolphins/Browns/Colts/Titans would have all had a little more to play for. Seattle and New Orleans would have had real chances at a bye instead of just hoping the Packers lost. Plus we wouldn't have to worry about watching the Bears again
