Redskins don’t even have a second round pick and have even more holes than us. Getting Yannick, a quality young pass rusher, justifies passing on Chase Young and the Skins only have to drop to 9, they can address two huge needs with two stud players.

Yannick already doesn’t wanna be here and this way we we don’t have to give up any extra picks we need for team building, we just straight up move from 9 to 2. We can go Josh Allen / Chase Young. That’s a ridiculously good starting point for a rebuild on defense. And we’d still have pick 20 for a Patrick Queen or a CJ Henderson.

Yannick is worth at least a 2nd if not a late 1st so the value match is solid.

Eh, I dont buy that some team goes 20% over the current max AAV for a CB who isnt far and away the #1 CB.

Xavien Howard did 5/75/40 (15mil AAV)...I could eventually see Ramsey resetting the bar higher by a good chunk, but, even then Im not sure it gets that high.

 

Defensive players who earn more than $18mil/yr are, by and large, insane generational talents. Mack, Donald, etc types.

I guess every year we see a few markets reset by a team going nuts, but, feels like throwing an exta $15mil onto Jones' contract overall for no good reason is a mistake.

 

I'm cool with the Eagles giving him this, giving James Bradbury 14-15 million would be an overpay.
