It’s way too easy to take away downfield passes if a QB never anticipates timing

  2. Why was carr out last night

Mariota is a backup QB who was drafted 2nd overall and not signed to an extension. I am not wrong to criticize his skillset lol

Actually, wasn’t the throwing with anticipation the best thing jameis did at fsu? lol

The titans improvement with Tannehill in last year in the same year that Mariota started the season as QB1 and while doing so the titans sucked was a pretty big indictment

It’s okay to be wrong sometimes, he’s going to become the next plunkett now

Eh. He was extremely hit or miss. Trying to anticipate when you’re bad at it can lead to a lot of INTs and that’s always been Winston’s problem.

Ryan tannehill could be better than mariota and mariota can still be good in the right situation, two things could be true... maybe

That’s why I see QBs who are good at anticipation throws as the key thing teams should look for or at least focus on coaching. It’s that one rare / difficult skill that separates good QBs from
not-good-enough ones. (Well that and pocket presence)

Idk, I watched a lot of gruden qb stuff on espn and he said it was true therefore it is fact

Yeah but he wasn’t good and it clearly wasn’t because the team was making him look bad. It was him

Meanwhile the Jacksonville Jaguars and New York Jets are set to replace two prospects whose best trait is anticipation

some skill sets are vital and necessary in the NFL no matter what strategic approach you take

A QB with shitty pocket presence wouldn’t be good in any situation either.

darnold is not good at anticipation.... and for Minshew that’s pretty much all he has since he’s not that athletic or strong armed

It definitely started as bad coaching. Yeah Mariota isn't good (though he's an elite back-up) and eventually that falls on him but I will forever remain adamant that the Titans coaching staff was stupid for drafting Mariota and then trying to change who he was as a player.

    I mean lol

You guys can keep bringing up cheap examples of QBs who are ONLY anticipation throwers and aren’t good at anything else, but that’s a straw man

every QB who is good in the modern NFL excels at anticipation throws, without fail. It’s obviously not the only helpful skill but it is a necessary part of being a good NFL QB

Eli Manning could jump and not anticipate falling back to the ground.

Only thing Big Ben can anticipate is a mistrial.

Remember the titans had a linebacker coach who has never coached any other position coach ol in mariotas first few years starting, when the ol collapsed on him every other play
