  1. The word almost is doing all the work in that sentence

    there is one way out

Fortunately the only stat that matters at the end of the day is wins.

    Unfortunately, that's not remotely true.

I mean it kind of is lol

Remember that last Giants SB team? That team was pretty dogshit but they still found a way to win it all

That kind of is the opposite of his point though. People would lazily just look at the Patriots 16-0 and assume they were unbeatable.

  7. Can't wait for tomorrow. If the steelers won by 30 carpetelf will be "well they barely beat a depleted ravens and lost to washington they aren't a good team" and if they lose by one he will be "see i told you blah blah dumb comment"

I'm not saying they aren't a good team!!! Just that having the best record shouldn't automatically mean you're the best team.

  9. I don't know if anyone is saying they are the best team.

I mean, they were about as close as any NFL team will get. 8 straight wins by 17+ before hitting the Colts game; only 3 games decided by <10pts in the regular season. Though yeah, there were a bunch of 14-2 Colts teams with Peyton where they barely scraped by half their games, so 14-2 would make you think they were a lot more dominant than they were.

    The rivalry is back on

They are a one-loss team with the best point differential in the NFL. As long as you’re looking at it through the lens of “they’re vulnerable because every NFL team is vulnerable” and not “I can name more than maaaaaybe 1 team who have had a better season than the Steelers” it’s a fine take

Seems to me you have like 3-4 teams that have elite defenses, and then inconsistent offenses that can be great, but arent regularly (Steelers, Dolphins, Ravens, Rams)...and then a few teams with more balance (Chiefs, Bills, Packers).

And I have genuinely no idea what wins out this year. Usually being in that first category gets you by (see: Giants), but I think the Bills/Steelers game is gonna expose one of those teams

But for the team that won the super bowl, the win is all that mattered.

I’m not saying we’re going to win the super bowl, but that because of our record, we definitely one of the best teams this year.

Yeah, and that ranking had you guys 6th, that qualifies as one of the best teams.

the Patriots’ 16-0 didn’t mean they were unbeatable, but you’d be stupid if you looked at that season and put FIVE teams over them

if the Steelers win by 30 I will be happy as fuck because it means the division is still alive for Miami

Sure, but you should be looking at more than record to decide that.

(In this case though I'd probably have them fourth but I have no problems with people putting the Rams and Bills above them.)

I think the Steelers are the 3rd best team in the AFC, there I said it

I think tomorrow we’ll see how Pittsburgh and Buffalo stack up. But right now I’d probably put them second in the AFC behind the chiefs. But I wouldn’t argue too strongly against the Bills either. It’s probably a push.

again its hard to say a team is not good with the record they have, and they have since had a nice convincing win against another above average AFC team

I just don't know if they are a GREAT team, if that makes sense.

And I would say the same thing about the Dolphins as well. Their offense is still too inconsistent to be considered great,.

    Cleveland > Miami

    Lets Go. Prestigious

Dolphins will lose to the Chiefs tomorrow, so if the Bills win tomorrow they have got the division wrapped up

if both teams lose tomorrow, Miami still has a shot but has to go into the final game with Buffalo with the same record. I think if MIA-BUF end up finishing with the same record (even assuming MIA wins week 17 against them), BUF would win the tiebreaker for the division
