Gilmore is 31 and the McCourty brothers will be 34 next season. Belichick is a whiz with the secondary, but I'm not sure I'd count these guys as positives anymore because they are nearly toast.

I think you'll get one, maybe two more strong seasons from Gilmore at CB before he'll need to make the switch to safety for the final few seasons of his career.

 

For real though, Joe Douglas is going to throw all the money at Joe Thuney. He tried to get him last offseason and Belichick tagged him at the last second.

Yeah, it's gonna be a tough few years. it's kinda the price you pay for rolling out a Veteran team for 20 years. I think the product we got is worth the price we're gonna pay now, but we have a couple of very important offseasons coming up. Step 1 has to be trading Gilmore.

 

Honestly losing Thuney is the least of my concerns. They seem to do a good job filling the gaps when offensive lineman leave.

 

I think it’s an understatement that the most successful run maybe in sports history was worth a rebuild now lol
