the play calling has been borderline embarrassing all year. Just plain brutal.

The mismanagement of Miles Sanders workload alone should be punishment to the gallows for Doug.

But yes, the roster is bad...and old. That’s on Howie and he has to go because of it.

I didn't realize Bill Cowher was only 63 years old. If he has success, I think he'd coach for another ten years or so.

Fangio, Crennel, Zimmer, Arian, Belichick, and Carroll are all older.

It's really impressive how much of a group effort it has been to fuck up a team that won a Super Bowl a few years ago

The front office has drafted horribly, the coaching staff has mismanaged game situations as well as player development, and the franchise QB inexplicably got worse in every category except for durability.

Nah, his decline can be explained. Everything fell apart around him.

Feels like that 3rd one comes from the other two as much as anything...having no O-line depth and aging dudes on big contracts + giving out absurd contracts to old WRs who obviously werent gonna stay healthy...leaving nothing left for when they missed on the draft picks.

They're paying Desean Jackson $1million/catch so far...and that was knowable when the Bucs cut him at Age 32 off an achilles injury

That was pretty clearly a "We're not in the Chip Kelly era anymore!" move and it made zero football sense.

His accuracy has been downright awful and he makes no quick decisions. The lack of weapons around him has been overstated, as has the poor quality of the offensive line. If he needs to have a offensive line with a future Hall of Famer and three perennial Pro Bowlers to succeed, he's not good enough

I disagree that they have no O-line depth. Six months ago, there was no guarantee Mailata, Driscoll and Herbig would even make the team. They have all outperformed expectations and been fine overall. Seumalo is solid and only missed a few games. Yes, they've had a lot of injuries this year, but that doesn't entirely explain it

DeSean is the only truly indefensible WR contract (and it was an awful one). Jeffery was 26 when he signed his extension and I think that was reasonable at the time. Torrey Smith was a good signing (and functionally was a one-year deal anyway). No one else has signed anything but rookie or one-year deals. The issue is the complete inability to draft and develop skill position players. Since Kelly left the only one that has been managed properly is Goedert

imagine if the Eagles had DK Metcalf and Justin Jefferson right now instead of Jalen Reagor and JJ Arcega-Whiteside...

His weapons are the worst in the league and that's coming from a Jets fan.

    That's probably the Patriots.

That's a bit of a wash for me.

Very similar receiving corps and I'd take New England's* backfield depth over Philly's too.

The Harry and Arcega-Whiteside picks are very bad.

Eagles TE’s are enough to put them over the Patriots’ weapons

A wash is probably correct. You could make an argument either way.

Zach Ertz is injured and I really don't think Dallas Goedert is all that good. He's better than Ryan Izzo though.

Crazy that those teams each put up huge numbers against each other in the Superbowl and now both have the worst weapons in the league.

Ertz is back. He played last week. It was hard to notice since he only had two catches haha. I like Goedert, it’s hard to judge him from this year but he didn’t take big leap with Ertz out like he should have.

Goedert is mostly a product of volume. I think what @Night Channels was saying wasn't that Goedert sucks, just that he isn't as good as his stats are / he's overrated.

I honestly believe they'd be right where they are now. These problems run deeper than just a few bad picks
