I learned the Washington Football Team was DC and not state based when my family visited DC when I was like 8 and saw the former logo on a vending machine.

 

I feel like I never hear "Washington" and think of the state unless it's preceded by "Seattle".

Well some of us weren't fortunate to hang out around vending machines in DC. Honestly I might have never known if it weren't for that map showing where the game will be televised and me thinking it's weird that it won't even be on TV anywhere in Washington State.

I dunno, I always think of the state. They should be the DC Football Team.

 

They should 100% rebrand to the DC Something.

i don't think it's smart to play Hurts this year. if the team is dog shit, how does it help Hurts to play with dog shit? won't that potentially wreck his confidence and ability just like it's destroyed Carson's? it's not like the Eagles are a QB away so why break your new QB by doing the same thing that broke what was supposed to be your franchise QB? Play Hurts now and in three years when the Eagles draft a QB in the 1st/2nd round everyone loses their minds again.

 

Of course, this all assumes cuts that come before June 1. Trading Wentz before the start of the league year saves them $25mil in actual money ($10mil roster bonus + $15mil guaranteed salary) and makes the cap savings about $800k. A post-June 1 trade pushes most of the cap hit into 2022 and saves them $25mil against the cap.

Im genuinely curious, if they want to move on, how they'd pull it off.

 

Its only 4 games; think of it like preseason. Right now there is basically zero NFL game tape for Hurts; if they get a new coach, how can that person possibly make the choice between Wentz and Hurts?

Short of him getting hurt, I dont think 4 games ruins a player. And his mobility is how you keep Wentz from getting badly hurt and becoming untradeable/cuttable.

 

They cannot cut him. Not this offseason at least.

 

I mean, I agree, and i cant imagine a world where a team wouldnt give up a draft pick for him versus cutting him, obviously.

And actually, him being so shitty this year saves them $11.5mil in 2021 base salary, making him much more tradeable before June 1
