“The Ex” is the most obnoxiously melodramatic song hahaha. That one definitely doesn’t hold up.

  9. I have received the following bids on my roof. All are doing essentially the same thing.

    $8,900
    $9,400
    $16,000
    $17,000
    $19,000

It's wild that there can be such a range.

Probably going with the 9400 since they were recommended

when places charge that much, it typically means that they probably need to rearrange their schedule so they charge more to make it worth their while

Yeah and 6k + 9k is still better than that 19k quote he got so he still comes out on top

    how hard could it be

just go and get a bunch of wood and nails and put them together and then get some shingles and some roofing nails and put it on the wood.

I had a similar thing with a design firm versus me doing the work for a group. They wanted like $15k to lay out these lesson plans for a book; I estimate my time and I was $5500. Of course, the woman that runs that firm doesn't want to do the busy work, might have had to hire someone to help, etc...whereas Im happy to have the work and have no other employees to worry about.

It also probably matters a lot what size the company is; a bunch of window companies will do stuff way cheaper in the winter to keep their guys working, whereas a big company that does all sorts of work is less worried about lulls

idk, scamming some jabroni on the internet into giving me 6k to hammer some shit for a day seems like a pretty smart move to me

This might genuinely be the strongest argument for not paying RBs big money. Dont get me wrong, I watched Derrick Henry murder good run defenses, but, a single great WR, and a good OC who can scheme him as a decoy, can open up insane running lanes.

Had they handed off...there are 6 Bears defenders to 2 WRs on that play...so at least 2 of the Bears d-lineman are double-teamed, and the WR isnt even pretending to block. It'd have been a 20+ yard run instead of a 39yd TD.
