You already said you’d pay that for Chris Jones, why wouldn’t you for arguably one of the only people in the league who can block Chris Jones lol, esp when we need that position more?

A top tier left tackle hitting the market this young would be almost unheard of, he’d be worth a big contract.... just because good young tackles are rare, and very hard to draft because tackle is a position that flies off the board and drops off FAST in most drafts.

Some teams go 10-15 years without doing any better than mediocre at the left tackle position. Teams try to draft tackles high but if you ain’t picking in the top 10 there’s a good chance you already are stuck reaching for one that isn’t polished. It’s also such a jump in competition level from college to NFL that even some of the dudes drafted high end up unable to handle it.

 

He's probably a 4.6 guy. He's at the combine, just not participating in the drills.

His excuse about not having enough time to prepare is a cop out. He just isn't fast and a bad time would hurt his stock more than a good time would help it.

Plus, we are in prime striking distance for a potentially elite LT in the draft. Paying Tunsil is giving up on Yannick and I'd rather have Yannick/Becton than Tunsil/???
