I really don’t remember a whole lot of drafts with a Herbert, a Fromm, an Eason, and a Tu’a, none of which are projected to be top tier (plus people still liking Love for some reason)

2018 was an unusually strong class and not really a fair frame of reference

 

Some drafts are so shallow at QB that similar talents to Herbert and Eason might go in the top 5-7 out of desperation

Almost every draft has a Fromm too. Most have a Herbert.

 

What I’m saying is most drafts don’t have those guys as the 4th and 5th guy. Most drafts have that talent 1-3. This year both are almost certainly below Burrow, Tua, Eason

Hence; this draft is deep at QB by comparison

 

Every draft has someone like Jake Fromm available in the 4th or 5th round.

 

They absolutely do not have Fromm top three. Remarkably few drafts have been that bad

 

Yeah I’m not a Fromm believer but THAT I don’t agree with.

There might be one, but not one that people suspect early in the draft process. We have 5 primary QB prospects we are following right now before the NFL regular season is even over. I just think you guys have recency bias because of 2018. That shit doesn’t usually happen.

 

When I'm looking at a position group and I'm having to consider Jordan Love, Shea Patterson, Alex Gordon, and Brian Lewerke as potentially top five players at the position, it's a shitty QB class.

 

Like I wouldn’t argue that this was a STRONG qb class but I don’t get the argument that it isn’t a deep one. It has several “maybe” options who are actually worth taking a flier on with a later pick.

Fromm is not a top option. He got early round hype because people projected him to take a leap and instead he took a step back. That happens literally every single year

 

There is not recency bias. Look ahead of 2021. That is a "deep" quarterback class.

If my franchise needed a QB and didn't have a chance to land Joe Burrow, I'd wait.

People be saying this every single year. And even @CarpetElf ironically JUST said hyped players fall off at QB all the time, while imma go ahead and say QB we thought weren’t ready prove us wrong all the time.

 

Idk I’m just used to there being 2, 1 or 0 QBs I really like in a draft class and there’s more in this class.

I’m also starting to realize a QB doesn’t have to be visibly “ready” to be mentally / intangibly “ready” so I’m a little less harsh than I used to be about correctable flaws

 

Please don’t over-evaluate and overrate a bunch of bum ass QB prospects this offseason because Jacksonville needs help at QB.
