He played mostly guard for us, Ragnow took over as center this year. Glasgow is good but he probably is gonna get way overpaid and I don’t think we’re going to pay him as much as he’s wanting

 

The length is the only issue out of these imo. If all those things could be readjusted every couple years to account for salary cap inflation then it might be fine

 

Length of 10 years is definitely too long. 5 years would be smarter

And I think the NFLPA should be more clever about raising minimum salaries by doing more veteran exceptions (where they get counted as the rookie minimum against the cap instead of veteran minimum). They added a few of those, but owners and GMs seem to love those and don't consider them money spent.

Revenue split should definitely be 50:50 pure, if not more.

Never going to happen tbh. It’s not about money, it is about leverage. Owners are not gonna give up their default leading votes. Even if there was a lockout they would still probably rather sit on their investments and diversify them than give players an equal share and thus a voice they can’t simply override.

Not defending the owners, nothing about this is fair or trustworthy. I just expect them to be greedy about having the ultimate final say in these CBA discussions. I’m sure they fully understand that giving players 50-50 would be the tipping point that took away their authority over time, and corporations / the top 1% just don’t do that.

The CBA is clearly not intended to make revenue distribution fully equitable. People and players wish that was the case for obvious reasons, but the goal is appeasement, not equity. It’s meant to pacify players just enough to keep them playing and making the NFL money.
