Also, has any run-heavy QB lasted into their 30s? Cam Newton fell off a cliff at RB-like ages. Russell Wilson's year may be a fluke, but if not, he went toast at 32. Hell, Vick, even getting years off the league, still went bottom up in what would have been his year 30/31 season. Lamar's a far more extreme example than most, but if the Ravens arent gonna go all in on that offense, I'm not sure I see the value in signing Lamar.

Far smarter to get a Watson/Wilson level trade package, save the cap space, and continue not actually trying to win a Super Bowl for 5 more years.

All these other teams playing down to their opponent but ultimately rallying and taking care of business while the chargers collapse what could the difference be hmmm

Lamar is a much better passer than most QBs who rely on their legs, that’s the thing. Wilson is the only example of a guy like that that actually sticks. If we want to go across eras we can include Randall Cunningham too.

if they decide to protect his body and stop calling designed runs so much when he’s 27-28, they literally can. He is a solid pocket passer too, and continues to get better.

Feels like this is too high, in part because Goff had a good year...but even call it 6/18/Goff and something conditional...thats probably a smarter move for the Ravens based on how they've been building. Because if Goff doesnt pan out, they can trade him again for a 2nd or 3rd after the season.

And yeah, give me Lamar in Detroit all day. I dont even know how the fuck you try and stop Jameson, Amon-Ra, Lamar, and Williams/Swift.

I agree 100%. Hes also throwing to nobody. If the Ravens switched their offense to rely on his passing, they'd be sacrificing the thing they are good at for a thing they're bottom 5 in the league at.

2022 seemed like the strongest WR draft in a while. Isnt 2023 pretty awful? I just dont see how they solve that glaring flaw.

i love this take, I’m here for it lol.

Sorry @xbrokendownx … I sympathize with you but, you can claim the Big Sad when they stop celebrating 1972 I guess lol

though I will say having a shitty owner and shitty medical staff is really sad for the fans, that just sucks I know you Dolphins fans would all remove both if you could

    The rivalry is back on

    1) Listen, Will Levis is either going to be good or he’s going to be bad enough to get us Marvin Harrison Jr and Arch Manning, Jeff Saturday will still be our coach, and Jim Irsay will re-live his glory days

i agree they should’ve at least taken a shot on somebody.

I love Pickens and on paper they should’ve taken him for sure… but the Ravens weren’t the only team that let him fall to be fair, he did have “I’m really immature and volatile” red flags. (Which made him the perfect fit for Mike Tomlin, who kept Antonio Brown quietly producing for years)

What if Will Levis is Blake Bortles - just good enough to make the team offer him an extension at a bargain, just bad enough to win nothing unless he has one of the best defenses of all time

  11. Giants Bills Bengals all have better QBs too

And actually, not even the draft...the WR FA class was good. JuJu and Kirk both would have been perfect hybrid options for that BAL offense. They can stretch the field, but they're better in the intermediate.

ravens def tried to get juju but if you could pick to play with machines or Lamar we’d all do the same thing he did

didn’t have the finances to match Kirk deal

    2) I’m very interested to see, if Peter likes football, what team he likes and if he bucks my family trend and joins me on the dark side

fun fact: no one in my family is a fan of the same team. Dad: Giants, stepmom: Cowboys/Packers, stepdad: Bills, brother: Titans, brother-in-law: Broncos

my best guess is, if not the Colts, he’ll like the Seahawks because either we’ll still live here and everyone loves the Hawks out here like people down south love their college teams and it’s objectively awesome, or we won’t and Seattle will hold allure as his birthplace in a way that Atlanta, or wherever we land, won’t

Ravens are just in a tough place.

Lamar wants out, not even sure he would resign if we gave him fully guaranteed. He knows whatever team traded for him wouldn’t make the trade without being ready to give a similar commitment

OC is going to be wide open. Do you bring in someone Lamar wants to try to get him to stay even if you don’t know if he will?

still a number of holes to fill and not enough resources/draft capital. WR x2, OL, pass rush, CB.

going to be a tough offseason.

it’s the team you were watching when you were old enough to form memories and emotional bonds to your hobbies, that sticks with you

it’s all about money and job security man. If the Ravens offer Lamar fully guaranteed he will stay. He doesn’t have a problem with the front office as people, he has a problem with them not showing appreciation and trust in him for putting his body on the line to make them objectively more competitive than they are without him. This is not the Jalen Ramsey situation where he didn’t wanna resign with a GM that didn’t respect him personally as a grown man. It’s all business for Lamar.

Maybe I shouldn’t speak for him but idk, seems pretty straightforward a running QB with that much talent wants some security, cause he knows the NFL will chew him up and spit him out the second he’s been injured too much to run anymore otherwise

like, I get thinking that Lamar’s demands are unrealistic and don’t take into account the team’s point of view… but consider how most black quarterbacks careers are thrown away in the NFL because teams don’t protect or value them like they do white QBs. They just treat them like grunt laborers and throw their bodies around and then say “oh he’s washed up now”.

THATS why I’m pissed. Lamar has proven he is so much more than that, and that his game can evolve as he gets older to give him some longevity - much like Randall Cunningham turned into mostly a passer in Minnesota and put up the best passing numbers of his career there

I agree with dobbins at least with him not getting the ball. And on the sneak. And pretty much all of it.

Losing snaps to Justice hill on the biggest drive of the game … like what the hell
