Smith and Dak being banged up is legit but like Dak’s calf looks a lot better than it did he just seems still rusty. He’s missing more than an acceptable number of throws

Gallup is absolutely a starter and a good WR. He’s been tasked with playing the role of the deep threat, which helps open things up underneath for them. I know his counting stats don’t look spectacular, but he had 1100 yards and 6 touchdowns in 14 games back in 2019 for a reason.

Kellen Moore also would get creative with his offensive scheme and utilize 12 personnel quote a bit. Jarwin may not be a starter, but when he’s hurt or limited, it limits the Cowboys offense. Several offensive players are no 100% and that slowly affects the entire offense. Doesn’t matter if they’re a full time starter or a role player, they still play important roles in the offense

Gallup would be a legit starter on a team that doesn’t have both Cooper and Lamb. They are just loaded at WR and don’t need to force feed him the ball lol

 

to me that makes him a luxury and not an excuse for Dak playing so bad since he’s been out, but idk. I will say Cedric Wilson is definitely not as good. A QB should be playing consistently well with a solid line and Lamb / Cooper / Schultz though imo, even against tough defenses

 

They’ve also deployed Gallup as the X receiver often so they ask him to consistently beat press/man coverage while they move Cooper and Lamb around to get them in advantageous matchups. This offense is going to take those opportunities more than chucking it deep to Gallup into potentially 50/50 situations. No Gallup means Cedrick Wilson steps in and now Cooper and Lamb need to be asked to be the X receiver more often, which Cooper has historically not been good at dating back to his time with the Raiders

my opinion here more so is that Jarwin isn’t good. Gallup is good so you have more of a point there but I just expect more from Dallas offense rn
