If Bill were getting outcoached the next couple years and the team was continually declining and out of the playoffs then yeah it’s time to move on the game passed him by. But he’s improved in his second year without Brady and with a rookie qb. This game aside it’s just one game, he’s still coming up with great game plans. It’s crazy to be discussing moving on from him, it’s not even about some reward for the past. The only knock is he was wrong about Brady but so was pretty much everyone else but two teams.

Belichick the coach is still paying the price for several horrible drafts by Belichick the GM. The lack of speed on defense was a fatal flaw. This year was a massive step in the right direction on the GM side and I really don't see much reason to believe he's not still an upper echelon coach in the league - they were lucky to be 7-9 last year and were roughly where their roster should have had them this year. He should coach the Pats until he is done on his terms.
