The way their offense has been moving they should've went for it. Sucks the momentum out of the offense.
Compared to the punt they did earlier in the game inside the 40, this one wasnt as bad, analytically, I'd bet edit: Yep, not too bad. Way less cowardly than the earlier one
oddly enough, friends and I were texting earlier today a hypothetical of “what if football changed from 60 minutes to the game being over once a team scores 35 points?” and we were wondering how different the sport would look, and also how awfully long some games would take
Either/or would kind of be fun. Its how Ultimate Frisbee is played...first to 13 or 60mins, at which point they add 2 to the highest score (so, a 10-7 game becomes a game to 12) and the first team to that or the leader after 75mins wins.
Idk just feels like with the way they had been moving the ball it's just a momentum killer to punt it from there.
Also, 4th and 1 is the big decider. Theres almost no scenario analytics doesnt say go for it on 4th and 1 except inside like your own 10. I get the punt, but the scenario also says if you go for it and fail, but can hold the Browns to a FG, the game hasnt meaningfully changed. And if you convert, you can suddenly make it a one score game by converting the drive to points.
