Lions have made plenty of mistakes and failed to make plays entirely independent of the bad officiating.
Yes but the refs are not helping the cause. One missed penalty was on a scoring play and the other resulted in field goal position when it shouldn't have been.
If the td isn't called then it's still a game even if the Hawks score here, if they score a td now it feels like game over
This game is going pretty much how I expected it to. Lions offense can't move the ball, their defense can't stop the run or the long ball, and the refs are against them as well. The Lions themselves don't even want to win this game.
The bad/missed calls are frustrating and definitely fuck the Lions over. But the refs didn't call bad plays, drop first down catches, commit stupid and unnecessary penalties, and give up 150 rushing yards to a guy who had barely 300 on the season.
I heard them mention earlier that the best rated refs get into the playoffs so they're not with their normal crews(?) I wonder how much that is responsible vs. just personal human error.
its entirely possible that the lions are losing by 13 because of a combination of the two factors (refs and stupid plays/penalties), guys
It's blaming the refs and babying this franchise which is the problem. Gives them hope that this team is good enough to get back to the playoffs next year when they're a mess
I can admit calls are bad and influence the outcome of the game. That happened tonight. Good teams can overcome bad calls.
As a Lions fan, I'm not blaming the officials. The team has played terribly this week and the past 3 weeks, it only adds to the frustration when it seems like the refs are missing/not calling penalties that should be called.
