Like...how is this even possible. Jimmy G is completely protected and Davante is, what in the NFL could only be called "laughably wide open"....and he misses him by 5yds. The second one, he's rushed and doesnt want to take a safety...I get it...but that first one is like, Brandon Weeden level bad.
I mean, theoretically they could if Oakland ate a bunch of salary in the trade. Like, if they turned all his 2024 money into a signing bonus, ate it in the trade...the Chiefs could spend another 2nd round pick on a WR and do better than their previous 2 attempts by far. Its something we rarely see in the NFL, but see all the time in the NBA/MLB...but if Davante was willing to take WAY less in the years beyond 2024, it'd be doable.
Happy for a bounce back win. Raiders stink. If Jimmy G isn’t airmailing trash it’s way closer. Our secondary is not good still and is such a massive concern for me.
Not trading a third for Chase Young sucks, but if their thinking is they just wanna make sure they pay Josh Allen I’m cool with it. I love the Ezra Cleveland move. Most Jags fans need to relax, our defense is playing great, what we really needed is to get Trevor some more time in the pocket to throw deeper passes. We did help with that. Anton Harrison steadily gets better every week and hasn’t been as ugly as early in the season. Hopefully Little and Scherff can stay healthier down the stretch. Two good veterans in Ezra and Scherff on either side should help Fortner focus on his responsibility as center as well.
73.8 PFF grade and only one sack allowed this year so far to only trade a 6th round pick for a decent starter who can pass block is great value
Randall when I tell you I could not care less about PFF grade..... anyways even a capable NFL OL for a 6th is a good deal. But I just urge you to temper expectations.
PFF grades can be helpful supplements to a point. They’re not biblically accurate & I don’t like when people rely on them too much, but they can often provide context where there’s not really a whole lot of stats to go off of. I particularly like to use it for offensive and defensive line, because 1) offensive line has very few metrics other than the ones manually tallied by PFF… especially for run blocking, which you can’t measure traditionally.. 2) defensive splash plays like sacks and forced fumbles are opportunity-based, and don’t really do much to describe how disruptive a player is on a down by down basis compared to PFF metrics that factor in pressures, hits hurries and win rare
Levis dropping some absolute dimes tonight. Has had barley any time in the pocket but some of these throws are great.
