Playing the worst run defense in the NFL and you run a fade on 4th and goal from the 1?

 

my two big offensive qualms are

1) I don’t know how you fix the stupid in Wentz — he’s a fully adequate QB until he does that one boneheaded thing. I think part of it is familiarity with these receivers, and quite a few of the incompletions seemed to be because he expected the receiver to do one thing and he did another. But the other one has got to be to remove the shovel pass out of his toolkit because it is a net negative more often than it’s a positive

2) the Colts’ inability to develop a second and third adequate pass catcher behind Hilton and now Pittman over the past decade has been killer. Pascal and Dulin were the primary receiver on too many of those passes since they were the only active bodies remaining, where their strengths are in blocking and special teams (AKA not what you’re doing). If you had a 1B option, I think they carve up Tennessee and this is not a one possession game for Wentz to blow

I agree with that — I do think the red zone and 4th down playcalling from Reich is too cute and it comes back to bite them more than it helps them. I don’t think that was the big factor in this game though since the Colts ended up executing on both of those red zone drives
