Meh, it was just a rumor but Darnold has never been good for a full season anywhere and his cracks have already shown.

the vaunted Flores defense got exposed again

 

Yeah, the luster of the Vikings defense has pretty much worn off. Team is basically who we thought they were at this point

Again just going off a rumor, but think Stafford is better currently. It’s not like the Rams defense is very good atm.

But yeah Flores’ defense has been exposed the last two weeks, and McVay is one of the better offensive minds in the league.

 

Their defense has a good scheme to make up for their lack of game breaking defensive line talent. And when the scheme gets exposed it’s a struggle. As shown tonight.

It was always a bridge year for them, and it’s cool they’ll outperform expectations this year, but their defense is still a year or 2 away. They’ve got a shit ton of cap and still got their 1st so that’s sweet

Good to know. I’m not trying to trash Darnold, in general he’s been good for real, and it would be cool to see him succeed and land a job after this. My post was just selfish as someone who had JJ in three different league lol

 

I've been saying this for years so forgive the paragraphs:
With the trade deadline approaching, and the Jags probably not making any sort of playoff run, I think the Jaguars should heavily consider trading Cam Robinson. We won't get much, I'd be very satisfied with a fifth round pick. But paired with the pick we got for RRH it could give us some ammunition to trade up if the opportunity presents itself.

Walker Little just showed you again, for like the fourth time in the last four years, that when Cam gets hurt he's a slight downgrade at WORST and at best could be a lot better and more versatile. How many times does Little have to prove this to us before we start to listen, lol! The pandemic is the only reason Little even fell out of the first round, his early college career had him projected as one of the top Ts in his class so we shouldn't even be surprised that he shows up and performs. He always had the potential to take Cam's job. To me this was a statement game that Little is better than Cam at what Cam does best - Bigsby got like 85 yards in a quarter from running directly behind him over and over. I've always thought he has the agility and the kickslide to win against speed rushers as well, which is what Cam DOESN'T have at all.

I get wanting to "see what we have with more continuity" on the line - but on the left side we've already seen Cam allow too many blindside rushers to impact Trevor Lawrence his whole career. Cam is not "bad", the LT position is just extremely demanding and there's only 9 or 10 guys who are both powerful and agile enough to be consistently good at it. He might be better in a scheme like the 49ers that uses extra blockers and allows him to block in a phone booth. Some team will always want him just because it can get a LOT worse than that at tackle. But just on principle, why are we paying a guy $20 million dollars a season to be average / below average when we sitting on an equally good player who is much younger?

At this point it's a bargain to keep Little instead because we didn't even LET him earn the money he's probably capable of earning lol. He's been a backup and that restricts his leverage. We 100% could pay him like, the minimum a starting tackle should expect to make, and end up with a better tackle than Cam and get more years out of it too.

 

Little, at least right now, wants out apparently. Hopefully we still bottom out and we've got a new GM and shit but rn I don't think he's accepting a discount from us.

But yeah call up Minny or Seattle and get a 6th for Cam for sure

 

Little probably wants out because he's talented af and we don't use him lmao, that much seems simple to me. Maybe we start him for the rest of the year and change his mind.

 

I would wager that he does improve our offense in the short term, but even if he doesn't, we've still only seen what Walker Little looks like in like 3-4 games at a time. He has occasionally had bad games in that subset but, we haven't seen him really get into a rhythm and get his skills sharpened over time with experience against the NFL's best rushers. What i have seen, is his good games are VERY good and make me believe he *could* become that franchise left tackle we sorely need.

We have seen that "rhythm" and development with Cam and this is as good as we're gonna get - low 80s Madden ratings, 60s PFF ratings, won't lose you the game but isn't gonna erase a good pass rusher either, etc. He's an extremely common archetype because it's very rare to have great agility at 320 pounds, and that used to be fine in an NFL that ran the ball more and required opponents to use bigger pass rushers. On one hand you love his brute power, no one is going to bullrush or outFIGHT him... Cam Robinson is well coached for his skillset and would prob be a stud in the 2000s or earlier. But in this Micah Parsons / TJ Watt era where dudes just be getting more and more freakishly athletic, it's becoming more clear that the teams who have that guy are in trouble when they face a great defensive line. He literally can't kickslide fast enough to get in good position sometimes.

 

That's fair and I'd like to see us run with him for the rest of the year

man Vikes got absolutely jobbed on that no-call. Watching the replay, the defender didn't grab him anywhere else, he literally only pulled him by his facemask!
