I’m referring to how much it’s underselling the effect of the WRs on Trevor. He’s got to feel like he’s taking crazy pills at this point, with how many times the #4 receiver in the league in yards and TDs last year has let him down in the dumbest way possible. Like “there’s no way I’m throwing to the same dude, some practice squad scrub is wearing his jersey”

I mean have they been bottom 10 all year no, they’re 4-3. Bottom 2 receiver performance for sure though, and with that context in mind it starts to make sense why when our OL also can’t block, our whole offense tanks and Coen stops running the ball - drops and sacks get us into third and long, the running game can’t do as much with poor blocking, we have to pass it anyway… it also starts to make sense why we go for way too many 4th downs and get into much worse game script lately when you see how our kicker’s been playing

 

If you have to wait for a situation to be really really good to evaluate a QB, we only know enough about maybe 5 QBs in the league.

Most QBs have at least two of these: decent WRs, decent OL, decent RB. Trevor has never had two of these at the same time lol. We’re not looking for “really really good”, we’re looking for baseline, we’re looking for one time where the huge flaws in our offense aren’t negligently ignored lol. We’ve seen probably 20 of the starting QBs in the league be in better situations than Trevor has had.

 

I’ll give Gladstone a chance to build this roster in his image and I’ll give Coen a chance to overcome his most obvious flaws so far which are 1) impatient, emotional playcalling when things aren’t going right 2) being TOO offensive minded with a current roster that is much more talented defensively than offensively

but right now we’re seeing the floor of this regime if we don’t continue to fix this offense
