That makes me think dislocation/labral injury

Obviously it wasn’t much of a hit but maybe an earlier injury and it finally gave

i think both can be true. he can have terrible receivers with play callers that haven’t done him any favors while also himself being doodoo

All his numbers (ESPECIALLY third and fourth down conversions ) look way better without the drops and without like 80 yards a game in plays removed by penalties. and “is Trevor doodoo” might not even be a conversation. The problem is the Jags are almost always ass on prime time and when people turn the game on they’re seeing the effect (Trevor post-regression / playing frustrated from nobody helping him out at all) and not the cause. It’s not a surprise to me he plays worse and makes way dumber/impatient and impulsive decisions when the offense around him keeps making embarrassing fucking mistakes but that’s all most people see of the jags lol

One thing is very clear - Hunter needs to be the focal point starting Week 9

This year, while the WRs have been trash all year, it looked like at least the OL and rushing attack would take pressure off him at first - the OL struggling against the Hawks & Rams lines seemed to play a MAJOR role in us going into hurry up / pass only mode and exacerbating our issues blocking the pass rush and with drops. I think Coen gets frustrated too quickly when the OL is playing poorly and his plays get blown up. He needs to go back to the run first dynamic we had in our wins - it’s also an effective way to settle down the pass rush

Like Coen so badly wants to call the same offense he had in Tampa Bay but the fact is we’re nowhere near that talented around Trevor yet and we won’t be this season, it’s gonna take at least another really good draft / free agency. He needs to adjust to what we have (a generally good defense minus Andrew Wingard especially with Hunter on the field, and an offense with shitty / young and inexperienced WRs and a developing OL that needs to build confidence / momentum, but capable runningbacks) and just be a running + time of possession + keep the defense fresh sort of team, that creates explosives through play action and misdirection

...I don't think Trevor has a bad supporting cast

Sorry for the four post analysis but I also realized something that makes doing this very difficult:

our kicker has been totally untrustworthy this season. You need to be able to take the points and settle for field goals to play like this - which again, even this Jags Rams game looks very different, if Cam hits the first field goal attempt and we subsequently don’t go for it and fail to get any points every other fourth down in scoring range after that.

That’s a nice little all inclusive advanced stat… that fails to consider the most obvious detail about drops - Trevor has the most drops of all of them

And that 18 drops is just deadass open pass drops. That does not even include how many times a WR was soft when he got hit and bobbled a lightly contested pass. It’s also hilarious that the worst drops always seem to happen on third or fourth down when we needed a conversion and Trevor did everything right

Also ESPN analytics are across the board terrible.

    1. I do not trust any source that refuses to post their data
    2. They are against consensus so often that there's just no way they're correct.

He was sacked 6 times in the first 4 games and 14 in the last two. Their OL has given up pressure quicker in these last two as well, there was maybe a couple where he held onto the ball too long but most have been him having no time.

Pass protection was great in the first 5 weeks and I did say that. Last two weeks it’s been much worse. Though this game was more on the WRs and the play calling / game flow than the OL in my opinion, OL fucked up a few times but there were also times Trevor had time and we still fell flat. Last week was 100% the line’s fault - Trevor got pressured more in a game than any QB in any game since Mahomes in 2020

If you're referring to the pass protection stuff, they are the least weighted variable.

I am not saying Trevor has a great, top 5, or even top 10 supporting cast. And I certainly do not watch Jags games outside of the game they played the 49ers, but the stats aren't meaningless (imo) and if we're trying to compare his supporting cast to those across the league, unless you watch all the games.. I just don't think he has a bottom 10/terrible supporting cast.
