I haven't done my victory lap about this yet, and this isn't about anyone in here more so Ravens fans in general fuck every person that talked shit about Lamar for realizing it's more about leverage than anything, and realizing the team won't commit to him as a passer until they've paid him like one. Teams don't protect their investment unless they've invested a lot of guaranteed money, good on Lamar for understanding his true worth and not giving in regardless of all the narratives spun about him being ignorant and greedy. he shredded the Lions with POCKET PASSING and had another game reminiscent of his MVP season, which also includes his game vs Cleveland this year as the only QB who truly shredded their defense so far. Looks like my all offseason long take that he was calling the Ravens bluff, and was smart for not going through an agent that would've played ball more with how teams view him, ended up being correct - and so was my assertion that we'd see him pass the ball more and run less designed runs this year. Lamar played chess, not checkers, and realized it's not about what he gets paid, but more about how committed the team is forced to be into his long-term success. He laid a great blueprint for other mobile black QBs to follow to be guaranteed long careers, despite how the NFL tries to use them up in an exploitative way like the music industry does to hip hop artists. Again, that's not about anyone here, although we did have a lot of people in here calling him foolish for going without an agent to make that point.
