Been a while since I’ve listened to their discog though. Might need to revisit this week so I can post my updated ranking and thoughts in the gameday thread for week 8

Hail to the Thief criminally underrated imo. Maybe it has a lull in the middle but I think it’s well placed; songs 7 & 8 are the “let’s get weird” part of the album and every good Radiohead album has that lol. It’s like transitioning from the part of the album that is horrified by the capitalism into the part of the album that is desperately trying to find some humanity.

Songs 1-6 and songs 9-13 absolutely rip. Yes, every single one of those is an A- to A+ song to me. No further questions

I liked Folklore and Evermore and I’ll admit I was just a pretentious d-bag about pop music before the age of 30, but now the fandom has just gotten way too culty and she’s in her 30s but still ain’t nobody willing to hold her accountable for her own transgressions

 

it's actually pretty sick that cruel summer just hit #1. it's solely because of the movie but still.

 

I think a lot of people in the Taylor Swift threads here are pretty critical of her capitalistic ways, but they do continue to feed it so whatever

Same shit happened with Kanye tbh. By the time I started coming around to his music, his cult of personality made me a non-fan again (but he’s obviously way worse than Swift is, I just think Swift embodies white privilege)

Nothing horrible, just some micro-things. It more so rubs me the wrong way that her fanbase gets so rabid when anyone criticizes any little thing, even if it actually warrants criticism / social commentary

 

Such as, accusing Nicki Minaj of “pitting women against each other” when she was talking about racial disparity, and not understanding how her white privilege interferes with her understanding of how black artists are treated differently

she wants to be the shining beacon of feminism but isn’t even intersectional about it so that’s when I decided I was out. Among other things, like dating Matty Healy during a time where it’s public knowledge he’s a racist piece of shit
