I was gonna say, they've invented this impossible conundrum. They want to blow the whistle the second a QB is in the grasp, despite having easily 10+ QBs in the league who can shake off the tackle of a DB or LB at any point. As much as I ahte Big Ben getting occasionally murdered on late hits, the refs usually do a good job of not calling him down for just that reason
I swear the NFL hates Washington fans. Making this 0-0 shit show the only game available locally in the 1PM window is asking people to watch Food Network or something
Yeah it goes the other way too, like in the Titans-Chiefs game in Smith's last season in KC where Mariota repeatedly fumbled but refs kept blowing it dead to forward progress or whatever
For sure. Part of why the refs suck is that they've added so many corollaries to these rules that there's no way to call things ring (see: Catch Rule). So you take a bunch of mediocre refs to begin with and its a shit show
This is very strange reasoning to be cynical of the Jags. Like, any other criticism of the team would make sense lol The only bad game Minshew has had so far has been against a top 5 defense this year. If anything he’s THE reason we are competing in games rn
I mean, if you’re suggesting we might lose to an 0-6 team and using Minshew as your reason that kinda sounds like you’re saying he’s bad lol If we lose this game it’ll be on our defense.
I get that it's a harsh rule, but what else are you gonna do? Oakland gets the ball at the spot of the fumble? Do you then award all fumbles out of bounds at the spot of the fumble?
