Henry leads the league in rushing and gets like 17 touches a game idk if they’re gonna give Tank that much work. The most he’s had in a game is 14 I think

 

I'm fine with the 7-12 range if he's splitting with Etienne but if he's hurt, I do not think he should be splitting with D'Ernest the same way. It's very frustrating to me he got 7 carries last game and that was it, we drafted him day 2 and it's time to decide if we're paying Etienne so I def wanna see if Bigsby can build on his recent success in a timeshare. We should've done the opposite and seen what he can do with more responsibility. (It's also a large issue that we keep going away from shit that's working and never making opponents stay on their heels when they can't stop something.)

for what it's worth the Ravens started this season off giving Henry less than 20 carries, and they went 0-2 and he didn't have great YPC. Then they responded by giving him 24 or 25 carries in 3 of his last 4 games, and his yards-per-carry surged to 6.0, 8.3, and 5.5 in those games. Bigsby is NOT Henry, let's be clear - but in terms of attacking a defense, there is something to be said about getting rushers in a rhythm, particularly power backs, who are more dangerous when they can wear down a defense, and set up critical cutback moves later in the game by baiting teams to overpursue their confident running.

I think that's one element where the NFL should return to older principles, especially now that teams are calling a lot of 2-high and more zone overall. Make them want to bring that extra safety down and call more man because their linebackers can't handle smashmouth running and pass defense responsibility at the same time. That's how you open that passing offense back up. The Lions have two backs and they just simply use both a lot lol, run 30 times a game and you'll get a Jamo Williams deep bomb later when the defense overcorrects. That's a great formula and with our line doing a way better job run blocking than pass blocking it also makes sense.
