If I’m not mistaken it’s not illegal to push a blocker into the returner if the blocker engages the guy on the kicking team and gets driven back into the returner
Believe so but not sure it matters in that scenario, essentially treated as your teammate running into you as the returner
If it was a fair catch that makes absolutely no sense and why would you not interfere every single time
Another example by chance also involving the chargers Broncos muffed punt: Why weren't Chargers flagged for interference during game-changing play in OT?
Don’t underestimate a good 2nd and 10 run now. I think that’s a good thing to do and not executing doesn’t make it a bad idea in theory
I love 2nd and 10 runs. The only difference between that and a 2nd and 10 pass is 1) the defense doesn’t expect it as much by default, 2) even if you fail, you don’t have your QB take the hit of, “oh shit I fucked up and now it’s third down” and they can approach third down with a clearer mind obviously don’t do it all the time cause yeah then you’ll just get DC’s predicting it and forcing you into third and long, but if you’re unpredictable enough I feel like you can call a run on 2nd and 10 up to 50% of the time and most of those will give you third down and manageable
Now, what I think is stupid is smashing the RB into the middle of the line on second and long. Unless you have Derrick Henry or Nick Chubb, don’t do that. Create space and misdirect defenders. That’s what I don’t understand, is calling short yardage-designed runs in that situation, more than like 5% of the time for surprise. That’s just unserious football
