I’ll just say I’ve never doubted Zappe.

 

Lol I love the Zap Man but the people who genuinely want him over Mac piss me off because the argument 100% ignores the massive shift in playcalling philosophy the pats have gone through to protect Zappe.

 

Maybe not 70% but yeah, he never got scouted out of HS and played for his community college and then the only DI school to pick him up out of hundreds was Wyoming.

 

Its gone some real "We should keep Matt Flynn and trade Aaron Rodgers" energy to it.

Dude played two perfectly acceptable games for a backup QB, and one game thats acceptable for an every week starter.

Oh yeah those people are driving me crazy. We gonna hear it all day tomorrow on 98.5 lol. I just think it’s just a good sign seeing the offensive line, the scheme, etc all just getting on the same page for when Mac returns.

 

This is the deeply funny part, HE'S the story if you wanted it. Got zero scholarship offers, had to play JuCo, ended up at a nothing program and breaks his collarbone in his first start. After one good year almost declares (in a move that probably would have ruined him, truthfully...considering how bad he was in Year 1 even after 2 years of college starting), returns to school and is talked about as a potential #1 pick. Struggles mightily in Year 1 before becoming an elite QB.

Hurts was a 4* recruit, started as a freshman and sophomore at the most prestigious school in the nation for football, and then transferred to a top 5 most storied program in the nation after being supplanted by an eventual top 5 NFL pick.
