That’s my biggest issue with it. The call itself is obviously questionable but based on angles you can make an argument for seeing what they thought they saw. But on the first one that flag doesn’t even come out until Rodgers gives himself up, whatever hands to the face they think they saw happened a good 5 seconds earlier on the complete other side of the field, the ref who throws the flag is the one closest to Rodgers
When the fail mary happened the league settled with their old refs and fired all the replacements I guarantee the Lions dont get that type of treatment and they've had like 20 Fail Mary esque games in this decade alone
Like now that I think about it, if Tom Brady retires after the 2007 season and his alterego Bom Trady takes over, both Tom Brady and Bom Trady are HOFers
I've never thought the refs are against the Packers - usually bad calls and lucky calls even out for a team over the course of a season but maybe not this year cuz the actual officiating is terrible
The Lions kicked two field goals from within the red zone. A touchdown on one of those drives makes a world of difference.
it's true plus that fortunate red zone turnover they got because the packers were playing a WR who probably couldn't start on a XFL team
Packers get favorable calls almost always. TJ Lang is evidence of that to me. Obviously I’ve thought it before but out of all teams I’ve watched, they’re the ones I’ve seen constantly get favorable calls.
I'm not a Lions fan but I've seen enough terrible calls against them (including a massive one favoring my team) to equal multiple Fail Marys of standings changes that probably shouldve happened over the years And no you
mehhhhh anyways these calls happen in every game every single week in the NFL this one just had the benefit of being a nationally televised game - if this was a 1 PM game no one on ESPN would mention a word about it haha
no they wouldn't - the officiating in the Cleveland/Seattle and Houston/Kansas City games were just as bad yesterday and people were already done talking about them this morning
Did the fail Mary cost the Packers their season? Oh, no it didn’t. is that the one egregious call that anyone can actually remember going against the Packers? Yep
Come on now, if the lions had converted one or two of those FGs into TDs the refs would have just found more ways to fuck the lions over so they’d still lose
Love to see smug Drew in here after he blasts his team all game and then pretends the refs weren’t as bad as other games
it actually cost them a second round bye and home field advantage that season what egregious call can we remember against the Lions? maybe that one against the Cowboys Wild Card weekend all those years ago?
