So glad to see that update on Smith, that was as scary an ambulance on the field scene as I've seen with them getting his family.

Pats have a long way to go, but encouraging day. Not going to call the Lions without Swift and with half of ARSB the same unit that was #1 before this week, but there's the foundation of a legit defense here. So good to see Judon back to his first half of 2021 level of play and Jack Jones looks like a stud in the making.

On the offense side of the ball they're not asking a lot of Zappe so far but I think he's looked significantly more ready to be the primary backup than could have been expected. Agholor with the most Agholor drop-turned-pick ever, but otherwise a pretty good day for everyone else. Jakobi Meyers has (at long last?) completed his gradual ascension to actual very good NFL receiver and Rhamondre is excellent. I still think he has a chance to be a top 10 rb in this league. And while I won't pretend to be an expert on offensive line play, Cole Strange has quietly been pretty damn good.

Can't put too much stock into beating up on a beat up (and flawed even healthy) team, but I'm at least feeling confident they're not as bad as people feared in August and that the AFC after the Bills and Chiefs is a lot more open than it looked at the same time.
