LeBron joined the Heat 8 years ago, and even then he’s lost a bunch. The only time the end result became 100% predictable this century is when KD joined the Warriors, two years ago. And they still almost didn’t make the finals last year.

The NBA season is so long that it’s the best at determining the team that wins the championship is probably the best. If that’s a knock on the league, that’s fine. But there’s lots of exciting games in that journey. It’s easy to say it’s a foregone conclusion but the Warriors were down 3-2 on the road in the WCF. The Cavs beat the best regular season team of all time two years prior. The Heat lost to the Mavs when everyone thought they were unstoppable. And this has all happened in the “super team era”

 

He didnt say Lebron and GSW. Also could be referring to LAL and Boston, who have won the majority of championships

 

Great points. Everyone “thought” the Heatles would win it all every year, same with the Warriors (or think LBJ in Cleveland the first year or so) same as people always think New England will win (or maybe Indy during Manning’s heyday) but surprises always happen.

And even if the end result is a Warriors win, the journey can be exciting and have surprises.
